10/17/06- A Few Incidents in 24 Hours
The last few days I have noticed the smell of a sweaty man in our basement. Today my wife called me at work to tell me that while she was at the grocery store, our laundry detergent had fallen off our dryer and spilled. In the picture, the ALL on the left is the one we had just finished and had been sitting at the exact same spot on dryer from full to empty. Just a week ago, I had put the new full on up on the dryer. As you can see by the size these are not light grandma size detergent bottles, we have 4 kids 3 and under, we get the mega size. Logic would say that maybe it wobbled off, but that is not truly logical. The near empty old one is much more likely to wobble off than the new heavy one. Plus the dryer was not running at that time, the washing machine was. The washing machine is not touching the dryer, and I reran it in the spin mode just to test, and the load was even and no wobbling occurred.
My wife told me that when she was putting the dirty laundry in the washing machine she noticed the smell of cigarette smoke, neither of us smoke. I still thought this was just a coincidence until I noticed the pictures. I posted them in order taken. You see the scene in picture one, with 3 orbs. The next photo is white washed out. I was trying to take the same photo as I took in photo 3. If you notice in photo 3, next to the detergent, is an orange dot. If you zoom in you can actually see a face in the dot. It looks like a face on fire.
After I took those pictures, I went back upstairs. We had just cooked supper on our griddle (quesadillas if you must know, and served with Amish Family Recipes Corn Salsa) and my wife was finishing the last bit when we noticed one of the burners on our stove was on. Neither of us turned it on; I was in the basement, and my wife was at the griddle (this is one of those countertop varieties). My kids are far too small to reach these burners, (the oldest being three) plus they were at the table waiting for their food.
We unplugged the griddle by pulling the plug from the griddle but for some reason we left it plugged into the wall. Because of the earlier incident, before we went to bed that night I checked to make sure it was turned off. It was. When I got up the next morning, it was turned on.

10/9/06- Increased Activity
We had just lay down, and heard something fall downstairs. I went down and saw that it was a diaper bag have fallen off the counter. Though I did pull on clothing for modesty, I neglected to grab the trusty putter. This was a diaper bag that had been on said counter since Saturday night. All of a sudden it just decides to fall? But wait, it gets worse. After seeing it was just a harmless falling diaper bag, I went back up, and was using the facilities before retiring once again. While in the bathroom, I heard a closet door shut downstairs. Obviously spooked, I went down again; yet I still forgot to grab the putter for some reason. There are 2 closets with bi-fold doors downstairs, both were open. I searched the whole house, and no one was present. The only door someone could have left by would have been the front, this was shut and locked, and we would have heard it because it is very loud. This is really starting to get annoying.
The two evenings before this my wife had commented on smelling an old lady in our kitchen, we had not had any guests in our house for weeks. Not many people stopping by to watch football on my state of the art entertainment system which has not seen one component upgrade from two years ago.

10/4/06- New Activity
There have been a few incidents over the past 2 years which I completely disregarded. I was in complete denial during these 2 years, after all I do not believe in ghosts. I had begun to believe it was all in my head and nothing was going on. So that being said, I do not remember exact dates for the following incidents, but in light of what has happened following 10/4/06, I now believe these to be relevant.
My workshop area of our basement has one light bulb. As you can see in the picture, it is controlled by a pull string and in the other picture is the switch on the opposite side of the basement where you enter the workshop area.. Twice in the past 6 months, the last being last week, I flip the switch, and think my bulb is burned out, only to discover someone pulled the string to shut it off. My wife does not go in this area, so it was not her, and I know it was not me. It makes no sense, you would be plunged into darkness and have many tripping hazards, where as using the switch keeps you bathed in light until you enter the light from the other half of the basement. Clearly my ghost does not like this light for some reason.
About a week ago, I got up in the morning to get ready for work, I am walking to the bathroom and I hear barefoot footsteps down in the kitchen. This freaked me out quite a bit. I went down and checked things out, nothing. I looked everywhere and found no one.
About one month ago I was laying bed. We had the lights out and sleep was only moments away. Out of the blue, there is a double knock on the door. I looked over, and our door is open about 2 inches. We always keep our door shut at night. Always. At least my ghost is polite enough to knock before entering, but this is starting to get annoying.

11/6/04- The Second Visit
About a week after our DVD attack, my wife and I again were peacefully sleeping. This time we both heard the crash. Once again I slipped on some clothing for modesty and grabbed my trusty putter. And once again I threw open the door and switched on the light. And once again no one was there. Upon further investigation I found a gallon of water that I had set on the wall the night before. You can see by the pictures that there is plenty of room on this wall for a gallon of water, and I frequently set water on this wall. When the water fell it pulled the rabbit ears (once again you get some insight into my technological advancements) off my TV, and both crashed behind it. Logic immediately wonders whether or not I had set this gallon, in a chain of hundreds of gallons, off center thus causing it to fall. However, would this happen 3-4 hours after I set there. I think not. It is awfully interesting to me that this was in the same region of the house where the last incident took place.

10/30/04- The First Visit
This night was the first time our ghost visited us. My wife and I had watched the movie Enemy of the State starring Will Smith and had gone to bed around 11:00 PM (not a bad movie, and thankfully the sound track does not star Will Smith). Around 1:30 AM, my wife awakened me. “Wake up, there is someone downstairs.” I listened, and heard loud crashing and screeching noises. With my spidey senses on super alert, I slipped on some clothing so our intruder would not be too distracted by the sight of my hideous body, and grabbed the closest weapon I could find, which turned out to be a golf putter. Having my courage boosted not at all by my excellent weapon selection, I prepared to open the door. I threw the door open, and switched on the lights in the hallway which bathed our living room in light. I saw no one. At this point I still thought we were dealing with a human intruder, and just to reiterate, I WAS ARMED WITH A GOLF PUTTER.
I walked downstairs and realized that the noise was coming from our entertainment system. By entertainment system I mean a six year old 19 inch television, a six year old VCR, an eight year old hand me down surround sound system, and a one year old DVD player. As you can see on the picture, this system is less than advanced. The sound from the DVD player is wired straight into the sound system and bypasses the TV. So, here is what I discovered. The movie from the night before was playing in the DVD player. Keep in mind this is not like a VCR which rewinds a tape and starts playing them again once rewound. This is a DVD player. Every electronics experts I have consulted with have told me that even if there was a power surge, the player beginning to play a movie, though technically not impossible, it is unheard of. However, beginning to play a movie in the middle of the movie is impossible. Plus, no other electronics in the house indicated a power surge had taken place.
I have tried to rationalize this, thinking that maybe it had started playing at the beginning of the movie. This is not possible for two reasons. First, my wife is a very light sleeper, and the movie sound was even more amplified due to the baby monitor right next to my wife’s side of the bed. Secondly, we had the volume quite loud on the surround sound, so no matter what, if the movie had begun from the beginning, my wife would have heard it.
I spent about an hour on the couch with my golf club with my skin literally tingling. I slept very little that night.
